Genocide in occupied Gaza and you are writing about Russian ‘occupation’!? Is it worse than the IDF?

That's a tough read. But it needs to be told. No wonder the supply of soldiers is dwindling, from knowing what may befall them whether they are killed in action or murdered when captured, or forced to commit crimes on their 'enemies'. Not to mention innocent civilians. How humans lose their humanity is gutting.

I know It must be told, it's just hard to know how to process it..... of course I wish non of it was true, but I'm a child of dutch parents who lived thru the 2nd world was and these horrors are in my DNA. It's hard to read, hard to watch and hard to write some of this stuff. But it is what's going on so I guess we have to face up to it... And just thank our lucky stars that we're not under Russian occupation.

The biggest inhumanity you witnessed though is the Beslan siege. LinkedIn to that was the alleged bombing of Moscow apartments by ‘Chechen terrorists’.

This legitimised acts of gross brutality against Chechnya and Chechen rebels.

Is this another example of Russian brutality?

Beslan was complicated in that any country would have struggled to deal with a terrorist attack like that. That said, the Russians did it in their own brutal way. No negotiations, no compromise. And it came on the back of a decade of killing in Chechnya.

Especially having been in Russia with you and witnessed the open friendliness of the women in the sauna, this other side of their culture is shocking ... Are children treated harshly by their parents? Does it root from then? ... and thanks for keeping me posted. I always enjoy what you write. ... and follow daily what's happening there and in Palestine ... with much love Ma x
